17th Gyalwa Karmapa"Buddhism is a way of life through which we develop the qualities of our mind.
This way of life is very unusual, as it is a means to attain happiness without harming others.

Saturday, April 24–Tuesday, April 27

Due to the current context linked with the coronavirus pandemic, this annual study and meditation retreat will be held online.

The purpose of this course is to give anyone the means to cultivate a daily practice imbued with clarity and compassion.

The path offered by the Buddha consists in clarifying the mind so that we are freer in our choices. Starting from an examination of our own situation, we become aware of our inner wealth and all that acts as an obstacle to it. By connecting to the explanations we have received, we cultivate a quality of presence with ourselves and others.

Using a progressive approach, Lama Jigme Rinpoche shows us how we can cultivate the qualities that enrich our daily lives and support the path to liberation—starting with ourselves and taking inspiration from the Buddha’s teachings.

Several gatherings throughout the day on Dhagpo’s YouTube channel will allow you to listen to Lama Jigme Rinpoche’s teachings, to follow along with the explanations on dependent origination based on Entry to the Path of the Panditas*, and to participate in Tara and Chenrezig rituals.

Daily Online Program

  • 7–8 am: Green Tara Practice
  • 10–11:30 am: Lama Jigme Rinpoche’s Teaching
  • 3–4:30 pm: Presentation on Entry to the Path of the Panditas* (chapter on dependent origination)
  • 8:30–9:30 pm: Chenrezig Practice

*The philosophical text Entry to the Path of the Panditas was written by the great Ju Mipham Rinpoche (1846–1912 CE). The presenters are students of Dhagpo and Kundreul Ling; they were trained by Khenpo Chodrak Rinpoche or at Sri Diwakar Academy in Kalimpong. Based on these studies, they explain point by point each of the themes covered in the text.

• FR - EN  We have decided to do non-simultaneous English/French translation, which allows for a more measured rhythm and thus more focused listening.
•  A Spanish translation will be streamed simultaneously with the teaching on this other Youtube channel.
•  The German translation will be available here: YouTube DKL Translation

Born in 1949, Jigme Rinpoche received directly from the 16th Karmapa the entirety of the transmissions. After 40 years spent in Europe, Rinpoche has acquired a profound knowledge of Westerners. His teaching and his example inspire practitioners and all who meet him across the world. Today, he is the General Secretary of the 17th Karmapa and the author of numerous works that render Buddhism accessible to all. Certain of his teachings have been transcribed and are available in the form of booklets.

In general, when we physically attend this type of teaching, we take part in course fees that cover the expenses the center incurs to make Dharma transmission possible. In light of the current circumstances and the transmission via Youtube intended for the greatest number of people possible, these teachings will be open-access and free of charge. Of course, it is still possible to support Dhagpo’s KDC Congregation—whose activity has been greatly reduced since mid-March—by making a (non tax-deductible) donation via Paypal or bank transfer (see the information below for details.
