The teachings

Rinpoche leads the retreat in his usual relaxed manner

Relaxed, doesn’t stop him from going to the essential points

Audrey is up to the task!  Precise, she relies more on the meaning than the words.

A session of questions and answers.  Question 1: short answer.  Question 2: short answer.  Question 3: the answer takes the remainder of the session; beginning with confusion, it finished with enlightenment, and between the two there is a path.

Khenpo Gyaltsen is very khenpo.  There is no fat in his teaching.  The 20 emptiness’ in 1h45min, no time for an epilogue!  Drakpa tries to follow.  He’s up to it too!

Circumambulations during the breaks.

The children (again!)

7h30:  The children are finished with the morning puja with khenpo Gyaltsen.

The dormitory:  the necessity of adapting the facilities

Every three months the children are put into exam situations to get them used to this type of circumstances.  It is like a practice exam.  (It is in the main courtyard of the monastery.)

Here, the exam is real.  It is a Nepalese language exam.

No chance to copy!

Wherever you look, children are everywhere….

 It’s work just the same…

Behind the scenes

Lama Nyima and his team are there, wherever, whenever, and however they’re needed. It would seem as though managing a journey with 120 people is a practice.

The kindly sound engineer. He introduced his wife to me, along with his brother and sister-in-law.  Nothing to say about the sound, everyone hears just right.

A part of the team of waiters/waitresses. I think they like to have their picture taken.

Coffee is served in a cup, and with a smile.

The kitchen. No comment. Nobody’s been sick. That means they’ve been attentive.

I watched;  he took some time before choosing the soy sauce.
