Fundamental Stances of the Middle Way Part 9

Trinlay Rinpoche

Saturday, May 5–Tuesday, May 8

Trinlay Rinpoché was recognized as a tulku, or manifestation of a Buddhist master by the 16th Karmapa (1923-1981). He is among the rare tulkus born in the West and his dual culture makes him an exceptional teacher.

“One explains that all that is produced through interdependence is emptiness;

This is designated as dependently existing
And this itself is the Middle Way”

Excerpt from The Fundamental Stances of the Middle Way (Mûlamadhyamakakarika), by Nagarjuna (2nd – 3rd century CE)

Fundamental Stances of the Middle Way

This text presents emptiness in 27 chapters. Each chapter examines an aspect of reality, such as movement, the aggregates, or dependent origination, and refutes the truly existing nature of each aspect. Trinlay Rinpoche continues his commentary of the text from last year in order to introduce us the profound meaning of emptiness.
