17th Gyalwa Karmapa"Buddhism is a way of life through which we develop the qualities of our mind.
This way of life is very unusual, as it is a means to attain happiness without harming others.

Integrity on the Path

Monday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 31

October 31, 1997 Gendun Rinpoche's parinirvana took place. Twenty years have now passed since he left us after devoting the last part of his life to transmitting Buddhism in France and in Europe. A greatly accomplished practitioner sent by the Gyalwa Karmapa, he allowed thousands of Westerners to commit to and practice the Buddha's path. This year, we will celebrate the memory of this exceptional being with several events.

Integrity on the Path

In a complex and at times overwhelming world, what allows us to keep a direction in our spiritual life and to maintain our values in the face of so many choices and priorities? One of Gendun Rinpoche's key teachings can give us answers. Firstly, keeping enlightenment as the reference in all we do; this is the commitment with regards to the result. Next, we apply effective activity that leads straight to the goal; this is commitment in relation to the causes. These two types of commitment accompany us all along the path in a dynamic where the refuge and enlightened mind constantly interact to facilitate our daily life.
