Dear Dharma friends,

I am pleased to inform you that there have been many progresses and developments at Sharminub over the last year and the activities there continue to grow. The most recent one being the completion of the 14th Shamarpa’s reliquary stupa which was consecrated by Lama Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche in April. In light of this development, I would like to announce that I will lead a Guru Yoga retreat on the 14th Shamarpa at Sharminub from December 3rd to December 10th this year and would like to invite all of you to join me if you wish and can. You can either join the full retreat or part of it.

I would also like to inform you all that Shamar Rinpoche’s wish for monks to continue their post-graduation studies at Sharminub is slowly coming to fruition. Last year in April 2016, Khenpo Gyaltsen Zangpo moved to Sharminub with 10 graduate monks, who completed 10 yrs. of studies on higher Buddhist philosophies at Diwakar Buddhist Academy in Kalimpong, India. Under Khenpo’s guidance, the graduate monks are continuing their education at Sharminub and will then move on to become teachers at the centers of our lineage around the world.

In the last year, since Khenpo and the monks moved to Sharminub, they have also welcomed over 85 children (aged 6 - 15), who either lost their parents during the disastrous earthquake in April 2015 or whose parents were unable to take care of them due to various factors and wished for their children to be taken care of at Sharminub where they could receive education, food and shelter. Khenpo and the senior monks are overseeing their education and providing them with food and other daily needs. If you wish to support the monks at Sharminub, please refer to information on organizations such as Infinite Compassion Germany, Sharminub Knowledge Rising (France - This email address is being protected from spambots. I look forward to seeing you in December and doing the retreat together at Sharminub, the 14th Shamarpa’s institute and monastery in Nepal, where his beautiful reliquary stupa now stands.

With prayers,
Jigme Rinpoche
